Devotion August 18

5-22 (2 of 2)

I want you to look into My eyes and know My thoughts toward you. You are altogether beautiful to Me. There is no flaw in you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. I want you to look to Me and My word to you, just as you look in a mirror and see your reflection. You don’t always feel valuable because you are looking into the eyes of others. Others look to others, and others look to what the world says is beautiful, until the word beauty is too polluted to mean what I intended. This is also true of your purpose. I created good works for you, they were planned before time began. As you surrender your life to Me, you are given a new identity. I want you to begin to wear this new identity and take off the old nature. And stop giving people and circumstances the power to tell you who you are. I want you to seek the truth, for the truth will make you free. As you feel the unrest in your spirit, ask My Holy Spirit to search you and reveal any thoughts that are contrary to the truth. When you begin to know and believe the truth about who I say you are, you will be able to love others, without fear, because you won’t be concerned about what value they bring you. I will set you free, for I have come to heal the brokenhearted and proclaim freedom to the captive. ~Jesus

Proverbs 29:25(MSG) The fear of human opinion disables; trusting God protects you from that.

2 Cor 5:16-18 From now on, then, we do not know anyone in a purely human way. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, and look, new things have come. Everything is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.

John 8:32 You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord God is on Me, because He has anointed Me to bring good new to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom to the captives and sight for the blind.
