devotion April 18, 2018

I have experienced some very overwhelming emotions this past week. Some so deeply that I have struggled to focus. I was crying out this morning to the Lord and had such a beautiful image of Him. I saw Him standing on what looked like white concrete. I was bowing at His feet and He was praying for me. Then I saw Him hold out His hands, palms up, with His fingers overlapping. His hands had formed a resting place. He looked up into a bright sky and I saw a Dove descending into His outstretched hands. He took the dove and placed it upon my head. Then He took my hand and prompted me to stand. I was aware of the Dove upon my head, but as I stood I saw that it descended from my head into my belly until I could see my belly glowing. I heard the verse “Let the peace of God rule in your heart”. He then led me back to a painting I did years ago for a friend that I wanted to share. The painting is titled “Remember Me”.

remember meColossians 3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, remembering that as members of the same body you are called to live in harmony, and never forget to be thankful for what God has done for you.

doveflying

The clamor of men is a swirling black smoke covering the nations. I am God, all powerful in My restraint, waiting for the fulfillment of My words. I am above, seated on My throne, but I am also sealed in your heart. This connection is as a white beam of light, revealing you as Mine to the world. This beam is unbroken and cuts through the smoke and clamor. As you unite with others who are mine, this light becomes brighter and begins to take the form of My Bride. I Am the head of the church, your bridegroom. Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens and those who lead many to righteousness like the stars for ever and ever. Put your hope in Me for My word is certain.

Psalm 33:20-22 My soul waits in hope for the Lord; He is my help and my shield. My heart rejoices in Him, because I trust in His holy name. Let Your unfailing love be upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in You.

Psalm 67:1-2 God be gracious to us and bless us, and make His face shine upon us; That Your way be known on the earth, Your salvation among all the nations.

I’ve felt your fear and looked for you, but you withdrew. You can’t see beyond what you must face because your fears are bigger than your faith. You only remember how much it hurt. You made vows. Never again. You built walls. Never again. You trust no one except yourself. Your life is an effort to protect yourself. You feel you must remain in control at all times. Those who disagree with you and make you feel out of control, you turn away from.  In this place, you won’t consider trusting Me. But you have asked to go deeper and I plan to honor your request. I am coming to bring you out of your fortress. Perfect love casts out fear. The things you have built won’t sustain you. Because I made you to need Me and to need others. As these things fall around you, you will feel your fears. But in facing them, order will arise out of the chaos. I will rebuild your walls and you will stand as I intended for you to stand… Leaning on your Beloved.

Song of Solomon 8:5b “Who is this coming up from the wilderness Leaning of her Beloved?”

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths.

ocean life 7

I saw you slip off the rock and into the river’s current. I was behind you and pulled you back. I am stronger than the current. I placed your feet back upon the Rock and I have held them there so you can regain your strength. I have made provision for you and will continue to supply My grace.  You can know peace as you rest in My sovereignty. You can know safety as you come under the shadow of My wings. And you can do all things through My strength for My grace is sufficient for you. My grace is not a blanket that you pull up over your head, but it is the actual power to accomplish what you are unable to accomplish in your own ability. I have pulled you out of the water and placed your feet on the Rock. Now, I am calling you to stand up! Lift up a shout of praise, even in your distress, because you are being delivered from your enemies. You will see My goodness in the land of the living! Don’t despise your brokenness, because it is beautiful to Me. The religious spirit that seeps into My churches will tell you that broken is wrong, that broke is ugly, but this is an absolute lie! Broken is beautiful to Me. A broken and contrite spirit I don’t despise!  Standing in your brokenness is your testimony of Me, of My faithfulness. I love you. ~Jesus

Psalm 51:17 My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.

2 Corinthians 12:9 But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’ therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

1 John 5:4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

mourning dove

The letter kills but My Spirit gives life. There is a season of loss and grief that is necessary for you to realize My resurrection in you. As you count yourself dead to sin, you will come to life through My power in you. The Dove came down on Me as I came out of the water of baptism. As you come alive My Dove is released and will lead you as one risen with Me. My Spirit calls to you and says “Arise My darling, come away My beautiful one. The winter is past, the season of singing has come.” Don’t seek to be wise, seek to be surrendered to Me.  I am calling you to allow My Spirit the freedom in you to bring you into a deeper relationship with Me.~Jesus

2 Corinthians 3:6 For the letter kills, but the Spirit produces life.

2 Corinthians 3:3 It is clear that you are Christ’s letter, produced by us, not written with ink but with the Spirit of the living God- not on stone tablets but on tablets that are hearts of flesh.

Matthew 3:11 “I baptize you with water for repentance, but the One who is coming after me is more powerful than I. I am not worthy to remove His sandals. He Himself will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire”.

Song of Solomon 2:10 My love calls to me: Arise my darling. Come away, my beautiful one.
