Devotion Jan 27, 2016

I am before you as you kneel and lift up your hands. Your surrender delights Me because I love you and it pulls at My heart to see you struggling. I long for you to come through the wilderness and into the Promised Land. Your way was blocked because you wouldn’t allow Me to lead.  But as you turn into Me, and accept My yoke upon you, you will move surely forward. I do not slumber or sleep and My strength is everlasting. So I will be with you. I will be an energizing and quickening power within you. I am your inspiration and sustaining Grace. You will move out and go in through My strength. And I will be for you. I am not against you. ~God

II Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.

Deuteronomy 8:-10 For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land with flowing streams, with springs and underground waters welling up in valleys and hills, a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive trees and honey. A land where you may eat bread without scarcity, where you will lack nothing, a land whose stones are iron and from whose hills you may mine copper. You shall eat your fill and bless the Lord your God for the good land He has given you.

I’ve felt your fear and looked for you, but you withdrew. You can’t see beyond what you must face because your fears are bigger than your faith. You only remember how much it hurt. You made vows. Never again. You built walls. Never again. You trust no one except yourself. Your life is an effort to protect yourself. You feel you must remain in control at all times. Those who disagree with you and make you feel out of control, you turn away from.  In this place, you won’t consider trusting Me. But you have asked to go deeper and I plan to honor your request. I am coming to bring you out of your fortress. Perfect love casts out fear. The things you have built won’t sustain you. Because I made you to need Me and to need others. As these things fall around you, you will feel your fears. But in facing them, order will arise out of the chaos. I will rebuild your walls and you will stand as I intended for you to stand… Leaning on your Beloved.

Song of Solomon 8:5b “Who is this coming up from the wilderness Leaning of her Beloved?”

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths.

devotion Jan 20

Stretch out your hands. As I turn them over, I see the callouses. Stand up straight before Me. As you look up, I feel the weariness and strain in your backbone.  These burdens are not from Me. I have heard the Devil’s taunts telling you “If you are God’s child, then do this or do that…” or “If you are God’s child, then why did you do that?” I see you working diligently to prove who you are, but I have chosen you to be Mine, to know and believe Me. Who you are is not based on what you can do. Who you are is based on what I have said about you. It is not by works so that you can boast.  When it is by faith it is certain. When you base who you are by your works, then there is a certainty of failure, because you are human. I want you to lean on Me and My grace. My grace is sufficient for you.  What I have spoken over you is truth. Choose this day to believe and rest in My provision. I will meet all of your needs out of My glory in Christ Jesus.~ God

Matthew 4:3 “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become bread.”

Matthew 4:4 But Jesus answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.'”

Vision Jan 18, 2016

I saw a person standing in the shoreline behind a huge rock. It was a stone that was round, about 12 feet tall. It was too large for anyone to lift. It blocked the way out of the shallow water. I understood this stone to be the fears and failures, the shame and sins of this person. There was writing on the stone that said, “You will never remove this stone!” There was a snake like fish with shiny scales swimming coming in from the deeper water. He would raise his head and tell the person, “you can move that rock out of your way, just try, I know you can do it.” The person would bend over and try and the snake would laugh in delight. Or he would whisper, “that is a memorial of who you are, you have come through so much, look how you have suffered. You didn’t deserve to be treated that way.” And the person would bow down in front of the rock. When the person bowed before the rock the snake would swell and appear larger than life. I saw Jesus on the shore. He picked up the rock, lifted it over His head and heaved it completely over the person. The rock crushed the head of the swollen pride snake. Jesus was pounding His chest, with His head held back hollering. He wanted the person to watch and praise Him for what He had done.  As the person praised Him, he began to walk out of the water, for the path was clear. The stone of condemnation had been removed by the power and love of Jesus.

Romans 8:1 Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Isaiah 62:10 Go out, go out through the gates; prepare a way for the people! Build it up, build up the highway; clear away the stones! Raise a banner for the peoples.

Psalm 100:4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name.

devotion Jan 13, 2016

Now that you have set aside your efforts to impress Me; Now that you have rested from trying to prove that you are good enough; Now that you have surrendered your abilities- I am about to impress you! I am giving you eyes to see and ears to hear the things that you haven’t seen or been able to comprehend. It is My desire to show Myself strong on your behalf, and to press onto you a revelation of Who I AM. I am awaiting your praise! Allow Me today to kiss you with the kisses of My mouth, to reveal to you the truth of Who I AM. I am placing hope in you today, the hope of glory. Those who hope in Me will not be disappointed.~God

Song of Solomon 1:2 May He kiss me with the kisses of His mouth! For your love is better than wine!

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written: no eye has seen and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind- God prepared this for those who love Him.

Ephesians 3:18-19 I pray that you may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, and height and depth of God’s love and to know the Messiah’s love that surpasses knowledge, so you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 3:20-21 Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us- to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen

Be mindful each day to surrender your body and mind to Me. The spirit of pride seeks to jump on your back. He will ride along holding to a stiff neck,  soothing you. He whispers: ‘you can do this‘ ‘you are strong‘ ‘you will show them‘.  He will tell you to hide and pretend, because you don’t want anyone to see your weaknesses.  He will assure you that I am of no use to you, that you must help yourself. When you succeed, pride is right there patting your back with approval. If you submit to him, he will cover your eyes from seeing Me.  The spirit of Pride, keeps your eyes looking into yourself. You will begin to resemble a question mark as your head bows into yourself. You will seek approval from others, and have to be the center of attention, for you have no room for anyone else. You will have to remain in control because you feel that you are the one who causes success and you think no one else operates has efficiently as you. I am calling you to recognize that you are unable.  You are sons of God through faith in Me. You are sons of pride as you work to achieve. Each breath you take is a gift from Me. Surrender your works and reach out to receive My life and love. ~ Jesus

Galatians 2:19-20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I love by faith in the Son of God.

Galatians 3:11 The righteous will live by faith.

Galatians 5:16 I say then, walk by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh.

Proverbs 16:2 All a man’s ways seem right to him, but the Lord evaluates the motives.

devotion Jan 11, 2016

Do you hear My Voice? I am speaking in a whisper, after the mighty wind, the earthquake and the fire.  After you have been burned, shaken and disappointed by others. After your bitterness and unforgiveness; I am the Voice that tells you to love again, to love anyway. I am the whisper in your heart that reminds you that you weren’t destroyed by what you most feared. I Am the Voice that strengthens what remains. I say to you “Arise My love and come”  He who overcomes I will give the crown of life. You can love again. Love never fails.~ God

James 1:12  A man who endures trials is blessed, because when he passes the test he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.

1 Kings 19  At that moment, the Lord passed by. A great and mighty wind was tearing at the mountains and was shattering cliffs before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire there was a voice, a soft whisper.

Where your treasure is, there your heart will be.  You will love what you consider to be your source of life. You will be devoted to that source. Whatever you believe can satisfy you, will receive your affection.  I have delivered you many times over from placing your affections on the things of earth, because these things are temporary and precarious. But I am constant. I am the true source of life and forgiveness. I have loved you with an everlasting love, and I am drawing you with chords of kindness.  I have given you the choice of loving Me. I will not force you. ~God

Prayer: Father God, I have tried the ways of the world and all have left me empty. I confess this and ask your forgiveness for rejecting You and choosing to dull my senses with things of the world. I confess even hoping in things and people that I imagine could bring life, and thinking, like Adam and Eve, that You were holding out on Me. I choose this day to set my mind on You, the Author and Perfector of my faith. I ask You to cause me to know that You are my satisfaction, to help me with my unbelief, because I do believe.  You are the One my heart loves.

Ephesians 3:18 I pray that you may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love and to know the Messiah’s love that surpasses knowledge, so you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Amos 5-14 Seek good, and not evil, that you may live: and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you.

Colossians 3:2 Set your minds on what is above, not on what is on the earth.

2 Corinthians 5:14-15 For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.

You will be rebuilt on your ruins and stand in your proper place. Out of the ashes the hope of My glory will arise. For I will carry out My plans and purposes and because I dwell within you, you are indestructible. I Am the Lord and I say, arise and shine, that I am glorified. I Am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me, even if he dies, will live. My words are Spirit and life, they are supernatural. You can’t understand this with your natural mind. I am asking you to surrender your natural mind and believe even when you can’t understand or yet see. Hold up your hands in surrender and I will give you eyes to see and hears to hear what My Spirit says to you.~Jesus

Jeremiah 30:18 (nasb) “Thus says the Lord, ‘Behold, I will restore the fortunes of the tents of Jacob and have compassion on his dwelling places; and the city will be rebuilt on its ruin, and the palace will stand on it’s rightful place.

Jeremiah 30:18 (icb) This is what the Lord said: “I will make the tents of Jacob’s people as they used to be. And I will have pity on Israel’s houses. The city will be rebuilt on its hill of ruins. And the king’s palace will stand in its proper place.

Your hungry eyes seek satisfaction. Come and repent of what you have seen, and sought after in the world. Your mouth is parched and dry. Your senses suffer lack because you search only for things you can see.  Until you establish Me as “THE MEETER of NEEDS” you will long and be unfulfilled. For I am jealous for you, and covet your affections. Your affections for other things, have blinded you. You have eyes but they don’t see. You have ears but they don’t hear.  You don’t believe that I am enough or that I will be enough in the future. Come today in repentance and rest and allow Me to open your eyes to the things of My Spirit. Understand that I am the source of your satisfaction. When you establish Me as the Source,  I become a shield for your heart. My way is perfect and My word is proven. And I meet all of your needs according to My riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Mark 8:16-21 They were discussing among themselves that they did not have any bread. Aware of this, Jesus said to them, “Why are you discussing that you do not have any bread? Don’t you understand or comprehend? Is your heart hardened? Do you have eyes, and not see, and do you have ears, and not hear? And do you not remember? When I broke the five loaves for the 5,000, how many baskets full of pieces of bread did you collect?” “Seven they said.” And Jesus said to them, “Don’t you understand yet?”

Ephesians 1:17,18 I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the perception of your mind may be enlightened so you may know what is the hope of His calling.
